Two KTU art societies – academic choir Jaunystė and brass group The BrassBees – have compiled unique programme for the celebratory occasion.

Jaunystė is one of the most famous choirs in Lithuania, established in 1926. Performing around 30 concerts per year in Lithuania and abroad, the choir is known among national and international audiences.

According to Jaunystė’s choirmaster Danguolė Beinarytė, a concert for Lithuania, especially when our country is celebrating the Centennial of the State is very symbolic and meaningful event.

“We had no doubts about our participation – the occasion would be a priority for any artist. Our choir is always full of life and good emotions; we are truly devoted to singing. Jaunystė’s members are proud of every achievement, but I especially value contributing to the sense of citizenship among the public and the choir members themselves”, says Beinarytė.

The BrassBees, KTU brass orchestra plays various popular music in streetband style. The group unites Kaunas universities’ students – future engineers, physicians and IT specialists, who enjoy spending their free time playing music. Established in 2016, the group debuted during the legendary festival Kaunas Jazz in a joint project with DixXband, and already took part in TauragėJazz 2017 festival.

Raimundas Arnašius, the art director of The BrassBees is promising plethora of sounds, colours and drums. Beinarytė, on the other hand, is keeping the choir’s programme secret.

“The Centennial of our State is dictating the programme, of course. Come and hear it for yourselves”, urges the art director and choirmaster of Jaunystė.
