Kaunas University of Technology awards Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral degrees.

Students can choose from:

  ■ 48 first study cycle (Bachelor's) programmes,
  ■ 59 second study cycle (Master's) programmes,
  ■ 18 fields of science of the third cycle (Doctoral) studies, and
  ■ 1 non-degree students programme.

Primary study branches are: technological sciences, physical sciences, social sciences, humanities, biomedical sciences, arts.




Higher education in Lithuania is divided into first study cycle (Bachelor’s), second study cycle (Master’s), and third study cycle (Doctoral) studies.

Kaunas University of Technology awards Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctor’s degrees.

Bachelor’s studies in four years lead to a Bachelor of Science degree (B.Sc.) and Master’s studies in two or one and a half years lead to a Master of Science degree (M.Sc.). The possession of a Bachelor’s degree or other qualifications of higher education is a prerequisite of entry to a Master’s degree programme.

The Doctor of Science degree (D.Sc.), which equates with a Ph.D. or with a somewhat higher degree elsewhere, takes a further four years to acquire and is only awarded to those whose research provides a significant and original contribution in the selected field.

Credit System

Kaunas University of Technology, as all universities in Lithuania, uses its national credit system based on student workload with an average of 1600 working hours per academic year.

1 KTU credit coresponds to 1 ECTS credit.
One semester equals to 30 KTU credits (30 ECTS credits).
One academic year equals to 60 KTU credits (60 ECTS credits).

European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS)

ECTS – European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System – was developed by the European Commission in order to provide common procedures to guarantee academic recognition of studies abroad. The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System is a student-centred system based on the student workload required to achieve the objectives of a programme, objectives preferably specified in terms of the learning outcomes and competences to be acquired.

ECTS within Kaunas University of Technology

Lithuania’s eligibility to participate in the SOCRATES programme (in 1998) provided the real impetus for ECTS implementation at Kaunas University of Technology. Our course catalogues, procedures for exchange students and availability of all relevant information in English has been constantly updated.

All key documents of ECTS are used at Kaunas University of Technology:

  1. the Learning Agreement covers the programme of study to be taken and the ECTS credits to be awarded for their satisfactory completion, committing both home and host institution, as well as the student;
  2. the Transcript of Records shows students' learning achievements in a way which is comprehensive, commonly understood and easily transferable from one institution to another;
  3. the Proof of Recognition shows students that the study abroad period has been recognised in the home institution.

Each programme has specific admission requirements which have to be fulfilled in order to be accepted to study at Kaunas University of Technology.

General admission requirements are as follow:

  • For undergraduate study programmes: 12 years or equivalent education.
  • For Master study programmes: a minimum of three years University Bachelor’s degree.
  • For Doctoral study programmes: University Master’s degree.
  • For Exchange studies: to be enrolled in any university (not Lithuanian).

Organization of studies

Study programme

Degree study programme – totality of study subjects that are mandatory to be completed and assessed.

Studies at the university are executed under Bachelor, Master or PhD degree study programmes. After fulfilling all requirements of the study programme, the student is awarded a diploma of an equivalent qualification degree (Bachelor, Master or PhD).

Study module

Basic unit of study planning is study module; it consists of independent study subject, which is taught for one semester. Study module can consist of various combinations of lectures, lab works, practice, seminars, student's independent work, scientific research work, designing or other works.

Study module can be mandatory, alternative (optional from the list), general, minor and optional.

Studies of each module are completed by evaluation of student's knowledge and skills – examination or student's independent work (project) is evaluated by a mark.

Forms of studies

In accordance to the intensity of studies, there are full-time and part-time studies.

Full-time studies are the main form of studies while organizing all study cycles under degree and non-degree study programmes. Ordinary scope of full-time studies is 60 credits, but no less than 45 credits.

Part-time studies provide a possibility to study at a slower pace. Scope of one year of part-time studies cannot exceed 45 credits and total duration of part-time studies cannot be one and a half times longer than full-time studies, applying the rate of 60 credits.

Graduation from studies of various forms provides equivalent education.

Study credit

Scope of studies is measured in study credits. Study credit is a unit of scope of study subject, used to measure study results and student's working time. 1600 hours of one year of studies correspond to 60 credits. One study credit is equal to one credit of European credit transfer and accumulation system (ECTS).

Number of examinations per semester at first study cycle and during studies under non-degree study programmes cannot exceed 7, at second cycle – 5, not including student's repeated or additionally chosen modules, student can choose no more than two of the latter.

Registration for studies

Students of first and second cycles must register for the academic year at the Academic Information System until the middle of June, at the latest (according to the Academic Calendar made for each academic year, approved by Rector’s order).  Newly admitted students are registered automatically.

Only individual plan of the registered student is activated in the Academic Information System.

Individual study plan

Each spring semester students, registered for the next academic year, choose modules and make individual study plans for the coming academic year; they can specify their plans during the first week of academic year. Faculties prepare preliminary individual plans for the first year students.

Student must confirm his/her prepared individual study plan at the Academic Information System during the first week of academic year.

All mandatory study modules of a chosen study programme, determined number of alternative modules and optional modules must be included into the individual study plan. Student is allowed to form an original set of alternative modules at his/her own discretion. Optional modules can be chosen from the list recommended by KTU Department of Study Management  or from all modules provided by the University, if requirements for necessary preparation for studies of the module are fulfilled. Student individually registers for optional study modules via student self-service account at the Academic Information System.

While making an individual study plan under agreement with the faculty's head of the field's study programmes, modules indicated in the programme can be replaced by the modules of equivalent content from other study programme of the University or other higher school.

Students are consulted on making of individual study plans by the head of the field's study programmes, the faculty‘s Vice-Dean for Studies and employees of the study centre.

Registration for Studies

All students must register for the new semester in the Dean’s Office of their faculties. At the time of registration a student must make and confirm his/her study plan.

Study plans

If a student arrives for degree programme (degree student), he/she follows general study programme plan with some personal adjustment and flexibility.

Exchange students make their study plan according to the home institution’s requirements. Students at KTU usually take 30 ECTS credits per semester.

Changes in the study plan may be made during the first two weeks of every semester. After these two weeks a student must confirm the final study plan:

    Degree students: to Exchange coordinator of certain faculty.
    Exchange students: to Exchange coordinator of certain faculty and to International Office representative.

If a student did not pass all exams of the previous semester, he or she can not be registered for the new semester. The tuition fee paying students must pay for the new semester before the end of the registration.

Other remarks:

Attending the lectures is obligatory. If a student got sick during the semester or exams session, he/she must visit a doctor and inform the faculty administration about the sickness on the first day of missing the classes. After getting well again, student must get a note from the doctor and bring it to the faculty.

Minor studies

Students of first cycle, who’s chosen programme provides a possibility of a double qualification degree, can choose modules of the minor study programme.

Why is it a good choice?

According to the specialists of labour market, employers increasingly search for the employees with broad qualification, having specific knowledge of their area, as well as additional knowledge of other science fields, for example, it is desirable for a specialist of technologies, engineering or physical sciences to have at least a minimum knowledge in the areas of social sciences, management or economics.

Our University takes into consideration market demands and provides great opportunities to study additional programme of minor studies besides major study programme, which is chosen when entering the University. Student, who chooses such studies and successfully graduates, acquires a double Bachelor qualification degree of major field (area) studies and minor field (area) studies.

Minor studies provide students with a possibility of acquiring wider education, more knowledge, skills and experience, and expand their employment opportunities.

Offered programmes

University offers 20 minor study programmes: Materials and Nanotechnologies, Applied Physics, Informatics, Applied Mathematics, Economics, Public Policy, European Studies, Psychology, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Industrial Technology Management, Business Management, Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Pedagogy, Translation, Language of New Media, Media Philosophy, and Industrial Design integrated in Engineering Design study programme.

Recently one third of study programmes provide students with a possibility to choose modules of other study field, therefore up to 420 unique combinations of programmes are available.

Admission to minor studies

Admission to minor study programmes is executed by procedure of competition, which  is organized in March-April.

Applications for permission to participate in the competition are only accepted only online in the Academic Information System, via student self-service account. Competition queue is made with regards to the student's study results – weighted average.

Those, who are invited to study under minor study programmes, have to prepare their individual study plan in agreement with the faculty, providing minor studies.

Those students, who have not participated in the competition (returned from their academic leave, entered in later semester, came from another school, were ill during the first stage, participated in the exchange programme), can submit their request at the faculty’s study centre in August-September.

Study conditions

Students, whose studies are state-funded, can study under minor study programme free of charge, if sum of the credits of major and minor study programmes does not exceed 240.

Students, whose studies are not state-funded, must pay for the amount of chosen credits of minor study programme in accordance with the rates of minor study programme.

Students, who want to acquire a double Bachelor qualification degree, prepare theses of both major and minor fields; scope – at least 15 credits.

Academic sessions

Academic sessions for study programmes of all cycles start at the following time:

  • first session – 8.30 a.m.
  • second session – 10.30 a.m.
  • third session – 1.00 p.m.
  • fourth session – 3.00 p.m.
  • fifth session* – 5.00 p.m.
  • sixth session* – 6.45 p.m.

* – Dean can establish later time for these sessions under students' request.

Recommendations for lecturers

  • To teach general study modules on the third- fifth session on Tuesdays-Thursdays.
  • To teach optional and foreign language study modules that have allocated credits, on the second session on Fridays.
  • To plan creative workshops of semester's projects, group work, group and individual consultations on the fourth session on Fridays.

Assessment of study modules

Results of student's module studies (knowledge, understanding, skills) are evaluated by a mark or a credit, applying evaluation system approved by Order No. ISAK-2194 "On approval of the evaluation system for study results" by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania of 24 July, 2008.

Study module is considered to be assessed on time, if student performed all scheduled study module‘s tasks of the semester's independent work till the end of semester, passes the examination during session or during the rescheduled period, or if the subjects that he/she has studied at a different university are valid, or learning achievements acquired via informal learning are evaluated by positive marks and competences corresponding to module learning outcomes are acknowledged.

To ensure active participation of the students during the whole semester and objective evaluation of study results, University applies accumulative evaluation system, when final mark of the study module consists of:

  • marks for intermediate assessments;
  • marks of examination.

Module evaluation in credits is applied when evaluation in mark is not necessary.  Module evaluation in credits confirms the person's participation in module activities.

If student fails to get an assessment for scheduled study module‘s tasks of the semester's independent work and to obtain a minimum score for them, he/she is not allowed to take the examination.


Duration of examination session – four weeks.

Schedule of examination session is approved by Dean and announced two weeks before the beginning of the session. It is recommended to specify a few examination dates for each study module in the schedule. Students (academic groups) agree with examining lecturer regarding the date selected from the schedule before the beginning of session and make a record in the lists prepared at the faculties’ offices.

Only those students, who get assessment for all tasks of the semester's independent work, have a right to take the examination. Student, who performed all tasks of independent work, has a right to take module's examination externally with Dean's permission.

The examination that student failed to pass can be taken repeatedly twice, but only during the examination session.

Rescheduled assessments

All assessments, which are rescheduled with permission of Dean or Vice-Rector for Studies, are considered rescheduled assessments. They are equivalent to assessments on time.

Repeated assessments

Repeated assessments of study module‘s tasks of the semester's independent work and/or examinations are allowed twice at most:

  • first repeated assessment of study module‘s tasks of the semester's independent work and/or examination is free of charge;
  • for the second one student has to pay a fixed rate payment.

It is allowed to get an assessment of study module‘s tasks of the semester's independent work during the first three weeks of examination session after paying a fixed rate payment, except when student failed to arrive to the main and repeated assessment on scheduled date during semester due to illness.

Retaking of examination or repeated assessment of study module‘s tasks of the semester's independent work during examination session may not be allowed, by Dean's decision, if student previously tried to obtain an assessment in an unfair manner or received a strict reprimand by Dean for a systematic failure to participate in lectures and other classroom activities.

Repeated attempts to pass SIW task or examination in order to improve a positive evaluation are not allowed, except when student's appeal has been satisfied by the University's Commission for Dispute Settlement (due to lecturer's unfairness, health issues or other essential reasons). Appeal must be submitted during three working days after announcement of evaluation at the latest.

Possibility to continue studies when there are not assessed credits

If, after deadlines for repeated or rescheduled assessment:

  • no more than half of student's credits scheduled under the programme, are not assessed, studies are continued;
  • more than half of semester credits scheduled under the programme are not assessed, the student is considered regressive and he/she loses a right to state-funding. Regressive student can be offered to repeat the course, continuing his/her studies in a position not financed by the state and paying a tuition fee, determined in the year he/she entered University, or he/she is expelled from University due to academic failure by Rector's order.

If student fails to obtain assessment of study module‘s tasks of the semester's independent work, he/she has to repeat those modules, supplementing his/her individual study plan respectively. Modules, which are repeated by student, must be included into the next semester when they are taught. He/she has to pay a fee for the credit of repeated modules, determined by the Council for that year of study.

Knowledge evaluation system

To ensure active participation of the students during the whole semester, their ability to practically apply theoretical knowledge, objective evaluation of study results, University applies accumulative evaluation system.

Applying accumulative evaluation, study results are evaluated by intermediate assessments and final evaluation sums the evaluations of intermediate assessments and examinations. If student fails to get an assessment of the semester's tasks and to accumulate a threshold mark (established number of a minimum score of intermediate assessments), he/she is not allowed to take the examination.

* Knowledge can be evaluated by mark or by credit. Usually examination and theses are evaluated by mark. Subjects of study programmes can be evaluated by credits, which aim to test student's acquired knowledge. Student passes the credit, if he/she proves that has acquired no less than 50 % of the subject's knowledge.

Final projects

Study programme is finished by evaluation of the student's study achievements during the final project:

  • Scope of preparation and defence of the final project, and final examinations of the first cycle studies - at least 12 credits. If a double Bachelor qualification degree is awarded, final projects of both major field (area) and minor field (area) studies must be specified (if it is established in normative legal acts), mutual scope – at least 15 credits.
  • Final project of the second cycle studies (scope - at least 30 credits) must be based on individual scientific research, application of knowledge or prepared as a project, revealing abilities correspondent to the programme's goals. By the final project Master student must demonstrate a level of knowledge and understanding, ability to analyse chosen subject, evaluate the works of a relevant field (area), previously made by other persons, perform research of that field (area), describe his/her performed research work, clearly and reasonably formulate conclusions of the research in accordance with General requirements of preparation, defence and keeping of final projects of first and second study cycles, approved by Rector.

Final project is included in the student's individual study plan as a separate module (or a few modules); this module's tasks of independent work are assessed under the schedule provided in the description of study module. Evaluations of the tasks of independent work are entered in the Academic Information System. These evaluations are basis for module credits given to student and he/she acquires a right to defend his/her work at a public session of Qualification Commission.


If there were settlement procedure violations during semester, session or assessment of final projects, student can submit an appeal.

First, we recommend discussing about the situation with supervisor of the final project or head of the field’s study programmes. Also, student can apply to Head of Department or Director of Department of Student Affairs.

In case of failure to find a different solution and student can justify the occurrence of procedure violations, the appeal must be submitted during three working days after announcement of evaluation at the latest.

An appeal against the evaluation results of the semester individual work or exam, if the academic ethics or procedure were violated (for example, due teacher’s unfairness, health issues or other essential reasons), is to be submitted to the Board of Academic Ethics.

An appeal against the evaluation results of the final project, if only technical mistakes and procedural violations are involved, is to be submitted to the Dean, who assigns another reviewer of the final project or Qualification Commission for examination by the order. New evaluation results are entered in the Academic Information System under procedure established in the Regulations on Assessment of Study Modules.

Repeated attempts to assess semester individual work, pass examination or defend final project in order to improve a positive evaluation are not allowed, except when student's appeal has been satisfied by the Board of Academic Ethics (due to lecturer's unfairness, health issues or other essential reasons).

Following the order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania No. V-874 “On repeal of the order No. V-2340 of the Minister of Education and Science "On application of the provisions of Article 70 Part 7 of the Law on recommendations for the schools of higher education regarding the Law on science and studies of the Republic of Lithuania" of 20 December 2010" of 31 July 2015, rotation is suspended.

Lost of state funding

Regressive student, who repeats the course, loses a right to state-funding and can continue his/her studies in in a position not financed by the state and paying a tuition fee, determined in the year that student entered University.

Student, who has lost state funding, has a chance to study at the studies non-funded by the state with a different study contract, paying the tuition fee established by the University on the year of his/her admission. If student refuses to change his/her study contract, the studies are considered to be terminated on his/her own will.

Remaining free place of state-funded studies is occupied under procedure of competition by the best state non-funded student of the same study programme and form, the same year of studies, who has better academic performance than the student who lost state funding.

Student, who is transferred to state-funded or state non-funded studies, signs an agreement on amendment of the study contract at the faculty. Students are transferred during the first working week of the autumn semester.

Student who has lost state funding under procedure determined by the legal acts of the Republic of Lithuania, has to pay a tuition fee established by the University at the year of his/her admission.


Placement is an integral part of the University's study programme, included in the study programme as a separate module, intended for student's learning and activities at an actual workplace, which is evaluated by mark. Procedure for organization and performance of placement is established by "Description of procedure for placement".

Placement is obligatory for all University's students of first cycle study programmes; its minimal scope – 15 credits. Nature of the placement, its duration and evaluation by credits are determined in description of study programme and module. Professional placement can be completed only when half of the study programme is finished. Usually placement is completed in other institutions, as a full-time job.

In case more than one invitation (offer) for placement is received, the student chooses placement organization. Students who have academic debts, are allowed to complete placement on an exceptional basis with Dean‘s permission.

Organization of placement

Individual placement programme is made for every student. Placements are organized by the University's academic departments with assistance of Career Centre and Department of International Relations.

Placement coordinator – administrative employee, assigned by the University‘s academic department, who is responsible for organization of the students’ placement in the department.

Placement supervisor at the University  (lecturer, researcher) and  University‘s department which provides study programmes are responsible for student‘s placement as an integral part of study process, preparation of placement programme and procedure for assessment of completed placement.

Placement supervisor at the organization  – a person assigned by the company, institution or organization, that organizes student's placement, who consults the student on placement issues, is directly responsible for implementation of the content of placement programme and its smooth organization at the place of placement.

Placement organization (place of placement) – Lithuanian or foreign company, institution or organization where student completes placement under a signed tripartite agreement on placement. Placement organization must comply with the following criteria:

  • nature of its activities complies with objectives and tasks of placement programme, indicated in study programme;
  • has experienced persons, capable to supervise placement;
  • has a relevant material foundation, provides possibilities for practical training and integrated studies;
  • ensures that student‘s working conditions correspond to the norms of occupational safety, health and hygiene;
  • signs a tripartite contract on practical training.

Place of placement is indicated in the appendix to the graduate‘s diploma.

Status of the student-trainee in the company, institution or organization during the placement is determined by a tripartite agreement on practical training, made between student, university and company, institution or organization which organizes placement. The agreement defines placement duration, completion term, rights and obligations of the parties, right and obligations of placement supervisors (University and company).

Evaluation of placement results and quality

For insurance of placement quality, University‘s placement supervisor (tutor) and supervisor of placement organization (mentor) monitor student-trainee‘s placement.

Mandatory parts of accumulative evaluation of placement:

  • evaluation of performance of placement activity;
  • evaluation of placement report.

Students, who are below placement plan or their completed placement is evaluated by a negative mark, can be offered to repeat a placement course individually on their free time. If placement report is evaluated by a negative mark, repeated assessment is organized under the University‘s current procedure for assessment of study modules.

Student, who does not complete placement, loses his/her right to prepare and defend a final project.


It is obligatory for the students of first and second year of first cycle of studies to attend theoretical lectures and practical sessions, and for the students of third and fourth year and Master students – practical sessions.

Disciplinary penalties are applied to the students who do not attend lectures and practical sessions under determined procedure.

In exceptional cases, which do not contravene with provisions of Academic Regulations, faculty's Dean can allow the student to attend sessions during semester and perform tasks and have their assessment in individual schedule or to take examination externally.

Interruption of studies

If a student cannot continue his/her studies on a temporary basis due to illness, pregnancy, birth of child, maternity leave, long - term probation, part - time studies or internship abroad, he/she can be granted academic leave if all proving documents have been submitted.

Academic leave can be granted for the following period:

  • due to illness up to two years;
  • pregnancy and child birth – 70 calendar days till child birth and 56 calendar days after child birth (in case of complicated birth and in case two or more babies are born – 70 calendar days),
  • maternity leave – till the child reaches three years of age;
  • due to probation, part - time studies or internship abroad, and other reasons – up to one year.

Termination of studies

Studies are terminated and first study cycle student, Master student or Doctoral student is removed from the list (leaves University or is expelled) if:

  • study contract is over;
  • at the request of a student or unclassified student;
  • student or unclassified student is expelled;
  • unpaid tuition fee;
  • absence from studies after interruption of studies;
  • unsatisfactory study record;
  • absenteeism;
  • undefended thesis;
  • failed defence of the thesis;
  • health problems;
  • studies become impossible due to some objective reasons.

IMPORTANT: If you want to terminate your studies on your own will, you must notify University and submit a signed request regarding termination of the studies on your own will. Absence from the lectures and failure to attend examinations is not considered to be termination of the studies on your own will, even if you have done that since the signing of your study contract. A study contract, signed at the beginning of the studies, is an official legal document, which must be terminated in official way.

Graduation from the University

University's graduate is awarded Bachelor or Master qualification degree, professional qualification and PhD degree:

  • Graduates, who have assessments of individual plans of first study cycle, are awarded Bachelor qualification degree by Qualification Commission, which is appointed by Rector's order and final project is defended at its session.
  • Graduates, who have assessments of individual study plans for Master degree, are awarded Master qualification degree by Master Qualification Commission; final project is defended at its public session.
  • Graduates, who have assessments of individual study plan for a specialist (teacher), are awarded professional qualification by Qualification Commission, which is appointed by Rector's order; final project is defended at its public session.
  • Graduates, who have assessments of individual study plans for Doctoral studies and have defended doctoral thesis at the public session of Council for Defence of Doctoral Thesis, are awarded PhD degree.

University issues a diploma of the determined form and appendix to the diploma under a sample of international diploma of higher education determined by the European Commission in Lithuanian and English languages.
Bachelor, Master students and specialists, whose minimum average credit evaluation 9,5, who have never been evaluated less than "good" for any module, whose thesis is evaluated "very good" and "excellent", are awarded diploma with honours.

* Issued free of charge to persons, who study at the University.

Study Centres of faculties issue certificates on studies (student status, weighted averages of the last two semesters) and academic certificates in Lithuanian to persons, who study at the University.

Payment. When student receives the documents that are paid for, student must provide back receipt, which proves that payment is performed. Receipt can be issued when documents are ordered or received at the Study Organization Office or send my email.

Collection of certificate. When student collect the certificate, he/she (or his/her authorised person) must sign in the certificate registry. If student cannot come and collect the certificate personally, document can be sent by registered post to his/her specified address. It is a payable service.

Non-formal education

Non-formal education is person's education aiming to retrain, improve qualification or professional skills. Currently KTU offers about 600 programmes of non-formal education.

Programmes and modules

University offers flexible programmes of non-formal education in the areas of social sciences, humanities, technologies and physical sciences. Non-formal education programmes can be made in accordance with the requests of groups of people or legal persons. Learning can be organized during working day, in the evenings, during holidays and on other time convenient for the listeners, also as distance learning.

Persons, who have acquired education, but want to improve or change their professional qualification, expand professional and general education, can choose to study preferred study subjects (their groups) or qualification improvement programmes (various courses, workshops, etc.).


Persons, who have studied chosen study subjects or completed non-formal education programmes of various duration (courses, seminars), are issued a certificate of determined form. Legal persons, who want to improve or change qualification of their employees, can also apply.

Regarding non-formal education programmes, please apply to the faculties’ study centres or to the Departments.

Settlement with University

Students, who are graduating from the University, must settle with particular departments of the University (before the award of diplomas or termination of their studies). Settlement includes repayment of various debts. Settlement procedure is set out in "Description of procedure for student’s settlement with Kaunas University of Technology".

Which departments students need to settle with?

Graduates must settle with the following departments of the University:

  • University's library;
  • Faculty (academic department);
  • Dormitory.

What must be settled for?

Settlement with specified departments of the University includes repayment of various debts:

  • with Library – return of taken publications and payment of penalties for the publications that were not returned on time*. IMPORTANT: after settlement with Library, the student must indicate in the Academic Information System, that he/she will not take away publications from the Library;
  • with Faculty – payment of tuition fee and fulfilment of other financial obligations;
  • with Dormitory – payment for dormitory.

What is the deadline for settlement?

Students must settle with University during 5 working days before the date of diploma award at the latest. Only those who have settled with University's departments are allowed to sign in the Diploma register and awarded their diploma.

Those, who terminate their study contract with University, must settle before termination of the study contract.

Where can you check the settlement status?

Those, who want to check their settlement with University status, can do so by accessing their student self-service account in the Academic Information System (AIS).

How do you settle for the books that are not returned on time/lost?

Readers pay penalties of determined amount approved by the order of the University's Rector for every book that is not returned on time. (Rector's order No. A-730 of October 17, 2011).

Regarding penalties payment receipt you can apply:

  • submit your request by logging into your student self-service account in the Academic Information System (AIS);
  • by tel. 300655, Panevėžys faculty library tel. (8 45) 467 731;
  • by email;
  • at the library.

Graduate's contact details

It is recommended for students, who graduate from the University, to provide their contact details (that they can be accessed by after their graduation) in the University's Academic Information System before the award of diplomas). These contact details will be used for transfer of information and communication between the University (faculty, central administration and KTU Alumni association) and the graduate.

After graduation, it is possible to refuse to receive the information sent from the University at any time applying to the University in electronic environment or personally and providing a personal identity document. After receipt of graduate's request, his/her contact details will be removed from the University's database.

Diploma and Diploma Supplement

A Diploma Supplement is a document produced through a joint the European Commission, the Council of Europe and UNESCO/CEPES initiative.

The Diploma Supplement is an annex attached to a higher education diploma. It provides a standardised description of the nature, level, context, content and status of the studies pursued and successfully completed by the graduate.

The Diploma Supplement contributes to the transparency of student academic achievement and facilitates academic and professional recognition of qualifications throughout the whole of Europe and other parts of the world.

Diploma Supplement is issued to all graduates of Kaunas University of Technology automatically, free of charge and in two languages: Lithuanian and English since 2005.

Since 2009 Kaunas University of Technology has an awarded Diploma Supplement Label.
